About

DSCN2765My public writing took root in the midst of this trauma. On February 5, 2011 I lost my late husband suddenly and unexpectedly to pneumonia. From there God has grown my passion to share the gift He has given me while simultaneously traveling on this journey. At the time of my late husband’s death our two children were 4 months and 4 years, you can read about that healing process and my children at my blogspot blog – The Young Widow’s Rant.   SATW AboutI remarried in May 2013 to an amazing and wonderful man who has become a father to my children. He is my protector, my rock, and my love–Without him I simply wouldn’t be. Writing is what God is calling me to do, and so I’m stepping out to do so.  My goal is to reach people through my rantings, my poetry, and theological thoughts – hopefully provoking loving and growth stimulating conversations within the Christian community. My desire is to glorify Christ in all that I do.

    • Monique – I am so sorry about your loss. As I read your comment last night I was overwhelmed with sadness for you. Hold on to that hope for hope … there is hope on this journey, and you will find it in time. I’m going to be praying for you and your little one. You will make it through. He does have a plan for you and that plan involves goodness. Accept help when it is offered and give yourself GRACE!

  8. St. Paul is a pontifical school. Pontifical schools give out Doctorates of Sacred Theology.

I learned this when I heard about the Catholic University of America.

I’ll probably have to see if I can pursue what they would consider equivalents to the S.T.B. and the S.T.L. though.

I’m a religious studies and history student at ASU although I’m thinking about exploring more philosophy classes down the road as well.

Do you consider yourself apart of any denomination in Christianity?

    • Sorry, I misread. You said Northwestern College in St. Paul. Not St. Paul University.

Oh well. I’m certain though that both the Catholic University of America and St. Paul University both have great theological programs if you’re pursuing a Master’s in theology.

So at least these can be things to consider. (I was accidentally suggested Franciscan University of Steubenville to look into over a Florida State University misinterpretation.)

      • I’m an unofficial convert to the Orthodox Catholic Church (also called the Byzantine Catholic Church or the Greek Catholic Church).

This includes Ukrainian Catholicism, Melkite Catholicism, Ruthenian Catholicism (most common in America), Italo-Greek Catholicism (the Eparchy of Phoenix which I’m under actually has one Italo-Greek Catholic Church under it although most follow the Ruthenian tradition), Romanian Catholicism, and Russian Catholicism.

I came from a non-denominational, Evangelical background. Then went to the Evangelical Covenant Church (it allows far more liberal theology than most Churches). But I wasn’t satisfied that some things were deemed as heretical that I thought were more beneficial by a lot of Protestants so I started seeking a more traditional theology and loved both the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions. Both were fused in the Greek Catholic Church.

  9. Hi Stephanie,

I very stumbled onto your blog recently and started to read your many entries, they touched me, as I’m sure they do many. Til I looked closer and read your story, I also lost my husband on 5th Feb, 2011, he was 2 weeks shy of his 33rd birthday and I was left with our 1 year old daughter to raise alone. Like you, I have moved on and will be married again in 5 weeks. Life moves on as God has planned, I never look at my husbands passing as a negative thing, but just what had to occur. I too am thinking of beginning a blog, documenting my time in widowhood. But, I really just wanted to let you know I appreciate your blog and your experiences, especially being that we had parallel lives for a minute in time.
